Thailander truly has my heart. It is, from my personal view, the gold standard for how a restaurant should operate. They are thoughtful of their decor and maintain high standards for cleanliness, while still offering a menu at decent prices (especially for Asian food). It is one of the few restaurants here that have not inflated their prices and lowered their quality of both food and service, despite the overwhelming boom in tourism/immigration over the last few years.
They also have incredibly kind and attentive employees who always greet us with a smile. Shawn checks in to make sure that the flavour/quality of our dishes are up to par, Lee is thoughtful to remember our orders and jokes with us, and Mateus is always helping us with our Portuguese (apologies if my spelling is incorrect!).
And last but not least, the food is always delicious; the balance of umami, sweetness, and spiciness is ideal to me. We typically come for lunch here, and their set menu is an awesome deal; it’s an appetizer, main (which is a rotation of three regular entrees and you get to choose the protein - chicken, pork, and tofu I believe), and a drink. The quality and quantity of food makes it a great deal for the price. My notable favorites are the pad thai, pad prik pao, duck massaman curry, and their thom yum soup. Yes, the food takes a bit longer to come out, but I don’t mind because they make everything fresh.
We always leave feeling satiated and happy. They’ve truly made it impossible to go to any other Thai restaurant for me!!- Comida

Excellent service, excellent food, good menu selection. This place serves real Thai taste food, confirmed by myself ( a Thai ) and my other Thai friends 👍👍 Highly recommend if you look for Thai restaurant in Porto.

Just so good! Probably the most authentic Thai I’ve had in Portugal. Service is so attentive and it genuinely tastes like the dishes you get served in Thailand. Well done!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Thailander. The food was authentic, full of flavor, and simply delicious. I especially appreciated that every wok dish could be prepared gluten-free, which made it so easy to enjoy without any worries. The option to choose the level of spiciness for each dish was a great touch. Everything was just perfect – highly recommended! Definitely coming back! 😍

I was craving Thai food in Porto and found Thailander! I had the glass noodle salad & Pad Kra Pao, both were delicious. They even asked me if I wanted it „thai“ spicy and it truly was, in the best way!! The flavors and aromas reminded me so much of home. Also loved the Thai iced tea, super refreshing. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic Thai food in Porto! Khop khun ka 🙏🏼

The service from start to finish was fantastic, so friendly and welcoming. Really good starters, not too heavy yet very tasty. The mains were absolutely delicious. We really felt like we were back In Thailand. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. My partner and I would definitely recommend, we loved it!

My partner ordered the Pad Thai and I had the Pad See Ew - she commented it was the best Pad Thai she ever had. I wouldn't say mine was the best I ever had, but it was up there. She also really enjoyed her Thai Iced Tea, that was a pleasant surprise! The service was very good - we felt very well attended. Perhaps the only drawback is the atmosphere; it's fairly simple, but perhaps there is a beauty to this simplicity.
